Northbridge-

Alfred J. Beccia, 85, of Northbridge, MA (formerly of Milford and Framingham, MA) died Thursday, April 1, 2021 at UMass Memorial Health Care Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Janice M. (Adams) Beccia and father of the late David M. Beccia, both who passed in January 2020.  He was also predeceased by his two brothers, Louis Beccia of Mendon, MA and Nicholas Beccia of Milford, MA, and his sister, Linda (Beccia) Pulsifer of Douglas, MA.

Mr.Beccia was born in Milford, MA, son of the late Michele and Anna (DelSignore) Beccia.  He is survived by his son Jay Beccia of New Jersey, his daughter-in-law, Sandy Beccia of Northbridge, his niece, Gail Brown of Hopedale, and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Mr. Beccia was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1953. He was later employed at GM Corporation in Framingham and Jordan Marsh in Framingham.  After semi-retiring, he owned a cleaning company for several years before retiring in earnest. Mr. Beccia also had a long career with the Army National Guard, retiring as a Command Sargent Major, after more than 40 years with the Guard.

Alfred (Janice called him “Freddie”) and Janice met in high school and dated until their marriage on April 23, 1962.  They first lived in Milford, then bought a house in Framingham, where they stayed until 2005. After their retirement, they split their time between Mashpee, MA and Naples, FL. Throughout their lives, Freddie was a doting husband, staying by Janice’s bedside every day during her years living with Alzheimer’s disease.  He loved singing, watching war movies, and hanging out with his grand-doggies and kitties. Fred was quick with a smile and kind word and made friends wherever he went with his great stories and sense of humor.
