Ashland – V. Alice Gorczyca, 87, died Dec. 13, 2002 at St. Patrick’s Manor in
Framingham.
Born in New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Biernat)
Zajac.
Mrs. Gorczyca was retired from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts where she had been
a secretary for the Dept. of Public Works.
She had been a member of St. Mary’s Church in Holliston, active in the Callahan Senior
Center in Framingham and the Ashland Senior Center, past president of the local AARP
Chapter in Framingham, member of the Spy Glass Condo Association in which she held
several offices including president, was a Pink Lady for the MetroWest Hospital in
Framingham. In her earlier years she had been active and held many offices in the Polish
National Alliance in Taunton. She had enjoyed traveling and had visited many countries.
She is survived by her daughters; Barbara Whittaker and her husband Ronald of Ludlow,
VT, Carol Geden and her husband Richard of Holliston, Paula Nadeau and her husband
Gary of Deer Park, IL, 5 grandchildren; Patrick and Suzanne Geden, Heather, Holly and
Michelle Nadeau. She was the sister of the late Ted Zajac.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, Dec. 16th at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s
Church, Washington St ., Holliston. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home,
854 Washington St., Route 16, Holliston.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Callahan Senior Center, Pearl St.,
Framingham, MA 01702.
