Patrick D. McDonald, PhD., 72, of Holliston, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Elizabeth Seton Residence in Wellesley. Adored husband for 50 years of Kathryn McDonald and beloved father of Patrick McDonald of FL and Brian McDonald of TX. Born and raised in Rockville Centre, Long Island, New York, son of the late Dorothy and Charles McDonald. Graduated from Brown University and was awarded his PhD. from The Pennsylvania State University. Worked for Waters Corporation, Milford, MA for over 40 years in nearly every R&D and Technology group and in 2008 was appointed a Waters Corporate Fellow. Holder of nine U.S. Patents, having changed the world with his inventions. A serious and prolific photographer, wonderful singer and the first cantor at every one of his churches starting in 1963; most recently serving as cantor and choir member for St. Mary’s Church in Holliston for over 43 years.

He is also survived by his siblings, Rose Marie Schultz and her husband Gerry of FL, Michael McDonald and his wife Terry of FL, and his Uncle Robley Doyle and his wife Bettye of TN.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 13th from 3-6 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 14th at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or to stjude.org
