Holliston-
Melinda Delya Newville, 26, of Holliston, died Thursday, September 22, 2005 in Boston. Born in Newton, she is the daughter of Clarence “Mike” and Susan (Herlihy) Newville, both of Holliston. Moving to Holliston from Ashland in the 4th grade, she was a member of the Holliston Class of 1997. While in high school, she was a member of the National Honor Society, the Radio Club, Drama Club, and played the flute in the high school band. She attended Boston University and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2001. She received a BA in Biology with specialization in Marine Science. She attended Graduate school where she received her Master’s Degree in Wildlife Biology.
She worked as an office manager and course coordinator for the Introductory Biology office at Boston Univ. She had also been planning to attend Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine in September of 2006. She was a volunteer every Sunday at Tufts Wildlife Clinic in Grafton. She recently received her black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She also had been taking classes in her new interest of scuba diving. She was recently engaged on September 11, 2005 to her fianc? John Kim of Dorchester.
Besides her parents and her fianc?, she is survived by her brother Matthew Newville of Holliston, a grandmother, Elsie Newville of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, aunts and uncles George and Bridie Herlihy, Bob and Ilene Newville, and Linda Merlette. She also leaves many cousins.
Visitation hours will be held on Monday, September 26, from 4-8pm at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St. (Rt. 126) Holliston. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 27, from the St. Mary’s Church of Holliston at 10:00a.m.
Burial will follow at _________ cemetery of _________. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Tufts Wildlife Clinic, 200 Westborough Rd, North Grafton, MA. 01536.
