Hopkinton – Lois Penniman, 76, of Hopkinton, MA died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004 at the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, after a brief illness.
She was the wife of Frederic Penniman, Jr.
Born in Carver, MA, she was the daughter of the late Embert and Goldie Eames.
Mrs. Penniman was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her life centered around her family and her home. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. Many happy vacation hours were spent with her husband and family on her favorite beaches in New England.
Mrs. Penniman had been a telephone operator in her early career. She had retired as a receptionist at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Nancy Kearns and her husband David of Rockport, MA, Daniel Penniman and his wife Wendy of Milford, NH and Elizabeth Penniman of Hopkinton, five grandchildren, Stephanie and Michael Kearns, Christina, Erica and Jonathan Penniman, sisters Doris Ward and Thalia Carmichael of Carver, MA and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Gladys Burgess, Hattie Merrit, Flora Jorgenson, Andrew Eames, Embert Eames and Pauline Ward.
Calling hours, at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton, will be Wednesday, October 13 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
The funeral will be held Friday, October 15 at noon at the United Protestant Parish Church, Route 58, Carver, MA. Burial will follow in Lakeham Cemetery, Carver.
