HOPKINTON — Karl B. Mighton, 63, of Hopkinton, died unexpectedly Monday, May 23, 2005.

He was the husband of Margaret L. (Walter) Mighton for 39 years.

Born in Long Beach, N.J., he was the son of Arlene (Barrett) Mighton, formerly of Millis and currently of Carlisle, Pa., and the late Samuel Mighton of Millis.

Mr. Mighton was retired from the sales division of the manufacturing industry.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard.

A resident of the Woodville section of Hopkinton since 1971, he had been active in town politics. He was an avid saltwater fisherman and loved the Red Sox and gardening.

He loved and enjoyed life, people and his many friends.

Besides his wife and mother, he leaves his sisters, Judith Boyd of Norcross, Ga., Cherilyn Ames of San Mateo, Calif., Arlene Mighton of Raleigh, N.C., and Jeanette Kohler of Carlisle, Pa.; his nieces and nephews, Samuel, Hannah, David, Henry and Nicole; and his godchild, Jennifer Devlin of Wellesley.

He was the brother of the late Timothy Mighton.

A funeral service will be held Friday, May 27, at 11 a.m., at the United Church of Christ in Millis.

Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Millis.

Calling hours are Thursday, May 26, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Chesmore Funeral Home (www.chesmorefuneralhome.com), 57 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton.
