Hopkinton – John Wright, 78, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004 at his home following
an illness.
He was the husband of the late Rita V. (Cronin) Wright who died in 1980.
Born in Hopkinton and a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late Walter
and Mildred (Downs) Wright.
He was a graduate of the 1943 class of Hopkinton High School.
Mr. Wright was retired from Anton’s Cleaners. He had been a longtime member
of the Hopkinton Grange and served many years for the Town of Hopkinton as a
water/sewer commissioner.
He is survived by his sons; Edward Wright and his wife Cheryl of Plainfield,
CT, Robert Wright and his wife Sheryl of Hopkinton, Peter Wright and his
fianc?e Martha Collins of Westborough, Paul Wright and his wife Cheri of
Hopkinton, Philip Wright and his wife Yvonne of Southborough, daughters;
Karen Wright of Southbridge and Suzanne Quigley and her husband William of
Grafton, brother; William D. Wright of Hopedale, sister; Jean McIntyre of
Hopkinton, 15 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother
of the late Donald G. Wright, Charles A. Wright, Malcolm E. Wright and Doris
Merrifield.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 4 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at
the Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton
The family invites friends to attend the burial at Mt. Auburn Cemetery,
Hopkinton at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 5. The funeral service will be
private.
