Holliston-

John Joseph Marseglia Jr, 76, of Holliston, passed away peacefully in his home Saturday, June 17, 2017. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Marie (Morganelli) and John Joseph Marseglia Sr.

John was a gentleman is every sense of the word. He proudly served our country in the Army during the Vietnam War. A devoted and loving father, grandfather, cousin and friend who touched the lives of all that knew him.  A true family man, he enjoyed being surrounded by his family and always enjoyed attending his children’s and then his grandchildren’s sporting and extracurricular activities.  Originally a hard-working Software Developer who owned his own business, JONMAR Systems, he found his true passions after his retirement.  He learned to cook, loved going to the theatre, biking, hiking, golfing, playing cards, watching sporting events, became an avid contra dancer and made some lifelong friends at PWP.

He is survived by his children, Paul Marseglia and his wife Karen of Upton, Debra Seith and her husband Kent of Stow, and Laura Amichetti and her husband Tom of Stow. He is predeceased by his siblings, Michael Marseglia and Grace Ann Marseglia. He also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren, Riley, Brenna, Dayton, and Trevor as well as many close cousins and their families, his special friend and companion, Nancy Grefe of Attleboro, his former wife, Joanne Dayton of Venice, FL, and many friends he thought of as family.

Memorial to be held on Sunday, June 25th at The Warren Center in Ashland.  All are welcome for visiting hours from 10am-12noon in the Hayden Lodge. Family and close friends are also welcome to stay for a time of memory sharing, special remembrance, some tears but hopefully mostly laughs and, of course, an Italian lunch from 12n-2p.  Parking available and handicap accessible.  Donations in his memory may be made to the MS Society, nationalmssociety.org or Parkinson’s Foundation, Parkinson.org  Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com
