Kathryn and Trevis, my condolences. I know you both will miss him. Now I know where your love of gardening was born, Kathryn, along with your artistic sensibilities. What a great dad you had and what a great daughter you were to him. So much love, how fortunate you all were and are to have had him as your dad and true friend. Hugs to you.

Memories of your Dad, and our friend ... Jack was a wonderful black and white photographer, I still remember beautiful pictures he took of you Kate as a little girl! I remember Jack’s love of gardening; Jack grew and could teach you how to grow the best asparagus ever! He said you have to be patient... He truly enjoyed cooking and eating great Chinese food, and at the time liked Chen Du and the old Chopsticks. We had fun with him there!!! Jack was the finest painter and interior finish craftsman you could ever hope to have do work in your home. So many memories... We will always remember his warm smile, the twinkle in his eyes and his gentle laugh and ways. How dearly he loved his family, his friends, and his cat, I’m sad I can’t remember the kitty’s name now. He enjoyed Memorial Day camping with family and friends at Red Pine, He loved his country, and served in the military. We have been out of touch for some time but these are the memories we carry from visiting and times spent together many years ago. We will smile upon every remembrance of time spent with your dad, Kate, and we send our prayers for The Lord’s comfort and peace as you miss him here. You did a beautiful thing as you cared for your dad, and we’re very thankful you could be with him at the hospital, sending our love to you, mom, and family now and in the days ahead. As a kid and teen, Jack taught me about gardening, cooking, camping and home repair (especially interior and exterior painting, and wallpaper, which he did for a living), and cribbage. He loved airplanes (took us to many air shows), World War 2 history, history in general, and cribbage. He was humble, easy-going, patient, and fair with us as kids.
