Hopkinton – John I. Leonard, 34, died Thursday, August 4, 2005.
Born in Washington, DC, he was the son of George and Phyllis (Phillips)
Leonard of Richmond, New Hampshire.
Formerly of Southboro, he was a resident of Hopkinton for the past 7 years.
He was a graduate of Fay School in Southboro. He had worked for the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts and had been an engineering technician for EMC
Corporation in Hopkinton. He had played hockey during Jr. High and High
School, continuing throughout his lifetime. He had been a life guard at
Fort Devens and at the Hopkinton State Park, a former Hopkinton Auxiliary
Police Officer; an avid sports fan, he followed the Red Socks, Patriots and
Burins. He loved his pets. He was the talon for the Hopkinton soccer
fields for the past several years.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister, Mary-Ann Feller of NY, a
niece and a nephew and many cousins.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Chesmore
Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton www.chesmorefuneralhome.com
. Calling hours will be held prior to
the funeral service from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Burial in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Hopkinton will be private.
