Jason Dowley, age 41 of Medway, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and devoted friend, passed away Sunday evening June 18th after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was surrounded by his family and dear friends in his final hours.  Jason grew up in Franklin and attended Franklin Public Schools, and he later graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he developed a passion for radio broadcasting and formed life-long friendships.

Jason is survived by his loving wife Michelle and daughter Zoe of Medway.  He is also survived by his mother Nancy Dowley of Franklin, father George Dowley of Medway, sister Lisa (Dowley) McKenna and her husband Tom of Wakefield, and brother Craig Dowley and his wife Melissa of Franklin.  Jason was the cherished uncle of Matthew, Michael and Alex McKenna of Wakefield and Sam, Jack and Katie Dowley of Franklin.

Following his graduation from UMASS, Jason began his storied career in Boston radio.  He held multiple positions working for WAAF-FM and WRKO-AM in the Programming and Promotions Departments including Street Team Member, Board Operator, Producer and On-Air Personality.  Additionally, Jason was instrumental in the development and production of Real Rock TV.  Jason loved his years working in radio and formed life-long bonds with friends across the industry.  Over the last several years, Jason was proud to work for the United States Postal Service and developed great friendships there as well.

Jason (affectionately called “Bird” or “Dooley” by his close friends) was a Boston sports enthusiast, loved playing poker and enjoying good times with friends.  He was passionate about music and enjoyed playing guitar, WWE and sketching.  Most of all, Jason treasured the 19 years he spent with his wife Michelle and being a father to his young daughter, Zoe.

A Celebration of Jason’s Life with Friends and Family will be held on Saturday, June 24th at the Warren Conference Center, 529 Chestnut Street in Ashland, Massachusetts.  Please plan to arrive by 11:30AM at the latest. Service and celebration will include a short ceremony in addition to a light lunch.
