Holliston-

David Joseph Moore, 86, of Holliston, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 13, 2018. Born in Holliston, he was the son of the late Mary (Driscoll) and Jerome Moore. He was the beloved husband of Ann (Stewart) Moore of Holliston for 61 years.

A Navy Veteran, David had been a 35 year member of the Holliston Police Department. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Holliston. He loved to work with children and was the first juvenile officer in Holliston. David loved his family, friends, and his hometown of Holliston. He enjoyed following the local sports teams, especially the Red Sox and the Bruins. In his retirement, David enjoyed traveling with his wife. They drove cross country, visited Ireland, Scotland, England, and undertook an especially favorite car trip through Alaska.

Besides his wife, David is survived by his children, Mary Anne Moore of Uxbridge, John J. Moore and his wife, Susan of Franklin, David J. Moore and his wife, Jennifer of Andover, and Thomas G. Moore of Holliston. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Kevin J. and Kristin M. Moore of Franklin and Charlotte Johndrow of Uxbridge. He is predeceased by his siblings, John “Jack” Moore,  Robert Moore, Mary Blair and Anne Wise.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 19th  from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St.www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 20th at St. Mary’s Church in Holliston. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
