Medfield and formerly Holliston-

Charles William Higgins, 91, of Medfield and formerly of Holliston, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019 at All American Assisted Living in Wrentham. Born in Holliston, he was the son of the late Mary (Stevens) and Charles Davis Higgins.  He was the husband of the late Rita (O’Brien) Higgins.

Charles was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a committee member of the USS Boston Shipmates, a past Commander of the Medfield American Legion and a member of the Norwood Elks. Prior to his retirement, Charles worked as a tool and die maker. 

He is survived by his children, Mary Lawler and her husband, Michael of Plainville and Brian Higgins of Hopkinton. He was the father of the late Carol Higgins. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, M. Sean, Meaghan, and Shannon Lawler, and Christos Higgins. The youngest of 8 children, Charles is predeceased by his seven siblings, Flora Porter, Alice Seriac, Gladys Anderson, Dorothy Belonis, Arthur, Ethel and Etta Higgins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 27th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward Parish, 133 Spring St. Medfield. Burial will follow in Vine Lake Cemetery, Medfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to USS Boston ShipMates Inc,P.O. Box 7445 Brockton, MA 02303.
