Holliston

Arthur F. Lapworth, 57, of Holliston died Thursday, September 5, 2002 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, at his home surrounded by family. Born in Hanover, NH he was the son of the late Arthur and Charlotte (Howe) Lapworth. Arthur was the husband to Therese “Terry” (Frost) Lapworth of Holliston

Arthur had attended Holliston Public Elementary School, and was a graduate of Marian High School in 1963. He also was a 5 year veteran of the Holliston Police Department from 1967 to 1971, and 30 year Veteran of the Holliston Fire Department from 1968 to 1998, where he retired as a Deputy Chief. He owned and operated his own trucking and excavation business for 31 years from 1971 to 2002. Enjoyed spending time with family and friends and attending equipment shows.

Besides his wife Therese, he is survived by a son Arthur Lapworth of Holliston, Sisters Charlotte Turgeon and her husband Bruce of West Barnstable, Kate Goudreau and her husband Pete of Natick; Sisters in laws, Janet Routhier and her husband Claude of Quebec, Judy Simonds of Haverhill, Susan Bowles and her husband Bobby of Holliston; Brother in law, Harold (Buddy) Frost and his wife Roseann of Holliston; Aunt Alice (Howe) Paul-Murray of Natick. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Visitation hours will be on Sunday, September 8, 2002 from 4 to 8 pm at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St. (Rt. 16) Holliston, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday September 9, 2002 from Saint Mary’s Church at 10:00 Am with burial following in the parish cemetery.
